East Johnson County Water Users Association began acting in December of 1983 to obtain rural water for the areas the Association now serves. At that time it was neccessary for the project to be divided into 3 phases to obtain the necessary funding to complete the water system.

Phase I was put into operation in 1989, with approximately two-hundred sixty intial water users.

Phase II and III were completed in 1995 with approximately four-hundred eighty intial water users.

Phases 1-4 now provide approximately 4500 people with safe drinking water. This is accomplished thru 5 pump stations, 4 tanks, and approximately 175 miles of main line ranging from 2" to 10" pipe. The water system is maintained by East Johnson County Water Users Associations 3 field operator and 2 office personel.
